Announcement: A Walk at the Botanic Garden entitled "Views of the Garden for Kids" will be led by Kristy Clark.

The Sunday walk will offer kids many different ways to look at things in the garden. It will be tailored to help them notice things that might otherwise escape their yourthful eye.


About the Walk Leader:


Kristy Clark began her teaching career at environmental and outdoor learning centers in Ohio and Maryland. She earned a BA in Environmental Education from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. She designed and instructed an environmental education course at Fairhaven College. She developed and directed a summer camp at the Outdoor Experiential Learning Site in Bellingham, WA. She then worked as a teaching assistant for the SKY Program, which offered experiential learning to at-risk youth at State Street High School in Sedro-Woolley, WA. She went on to teach fifth and sixth grades in the District of Columbia Public School System. Kristy is currently raising her two children. Kaia is a curious 10 month old and Liam is an energetic 3.5 year old. Kristy is involved in local breastfeeding support and advocacy. She has also organized a local parenting support group, WV Mountain Sprouts.

All ages are welcome.
Attendees should wear hiking footwear, preferably waterproof.
The WVBG is located on Tyrone Road between Snake Hill Road and Route 7.
The entrance gate will be open to allow parking at the lower parking lot.
