2018 Annual Appeal

West Virginia’s Garden Needs Your Help!

The West Virginia Botanic Garden at Tibbs Run Preserve needs your help in transitioning our state’s only botanic garden into a premier horticultural and environmentally sensitive education and event destination in the region.

Our $75,000 goal will help make The West Virginia Botanic Garden at Tibbs Run Preserve a cultural and recreational asset that all West Virginians can enjoy and be proud to share with loved ones, guests, and furry friends!

Major Achievements of 2018

Our annual fundraiser gala, An Evening of Garden Delights, raised 58% more funds than last year’s gala.

To enhance guests’ experience, the WVBG staff and volunteers designed and installed the new Long Walk Garden and renovated four additional gardens on the property.

Our programming and increased local, regional, and statewide marketing efforts substantially boosted the number of visitors to the Garden in 2018.

Our farm to table dinner series, A Season of Good Taste, sold out four months in a row allowing us to showcase our new gardens, event lawn, and Education and Event Center.

Our summer nature camps inspired 68 youth.  Over 500 school-aged youth participated in nine school group tours.  Community and public education programs reached 1,600 people.

We selected an architect and identified major capital funding for construction on an 8,000+ square foot Visitor Center and Event Lawn.
