Girl Scout Programs

Join us for one or all of these chances to earn a girl scout badge during the 2019 season.

The Science and Secrets of Flowers and Gardens!

Sunday, May 19, 1-5 p.m.


In this 4-hour program, scouts will uncover a bit of science behind the structure, function, and importance of flowers, create a blossom-inspired craft, and unlock the secret language of flowers. Scouts will also explore several designed gardens, learn a few basics of garden design, and plant their own container garden to cultivate at home. Scouts may earn two total badges, Juniors’ Flowers and Gardening. Cost: $30. Snack provided.

Sensational World of Bugs!

Sunday, June 23, 2-5 p.m.


This 3-hour program will explore the amazingly diverse world of insects through hands-on activities, crafts, and outdoor exploration at the WV Botanic Garden. In addition, scouts will discover more about the five senses, learn how people and animals rely upon their senses every day, and become more aware of using their senses in nature. Scouts may earn two total badges, Brownies’ Bugs and Senses. Cost: $20. Snack provided.

Terrific Trees!

Sunday, August 4, 2-5 p.m.


In this 3-hour program scouts will learn the basics of tree identification, discover how trees conserve and beautify the landscape, and explore the connections between trees, people, and wildlife. Scouts will enjoy tree-themed activities and crafts, as well as an inspiring hike in the majestic forest at the WV Botanic Garden. Scouts may earn the Cadettes’ Tree badge. Cost: $15. Snacks provided.

Events are open to all Girl Scouts, regardless of Council Jurisdictions.
