The WVBG Library Collection

In the spring of 2018, our collection of books was finally catalogued by two dedicated volunteers.  It is now available to search online.

The library to date contains a scholarly collection of books on rhododendrons, a number of field guides and books covering plants and other natural history related topics, garden design, and more.

It has two sections, one for adults and one for children. Currently, the adult books are located upstairs in the Education and Event Center, and the children’s books are downstairs.

In the future, the library will be housed in the WVBG Visitor Center (not yet built).

Currently, if you want to read a book in the WVBG library, you must call for an appointment. As this is not a lending library, books cannot leave the WVBG.

Please contact us if you are interested in donating to our collection. Space is limited at this time. Donated books and other materials will be reviewed by the Garden staff for inclusion in the collection, and should support the mission of the Garden. Decisions regarding the disposition of books and materials not retained are at the discretion of the Garden staff.

Little Free Library

We also have a “Little Free Library,” which was donated by the Lions Club during the summer of 2018. It is located in the lower parking area, and visitors are free to take or leave books there.
