When are we open?
The WVBG is open 365 days a year, from dawn to dusk.
When is the Visitors Center open?
Visitors Center hours vary throughout the year. Currently the Visitors Center and Gift Shop are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Outdoor seating only, firstcome, first served.
When is the Café open?
Hill and Hollow at the Garden is now open for the season from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and Sunday.
Please leave the premises before dark.
Where do you park?
The lower parking lot is open from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from the start of daylight saving time in the spring until October 1. From October 1 until daylight saving time ends, the gate closes at 6:30 p.m. and the gate closes at 4 p.m. each day during the winter months. If there is a scheduled public program or private event at the Terrace, the lot will remain open for that event.
At other times access is limited to those who can hike down the road into the Botanic Garden from the upper parking lot beside Tyrone Road. The upper and lower parking lots are about 500 yards apart, and you can access the Garden by walking down the Hillside Trail or Garden Gate Trail from the Visitors Center.
Early or Late in the Day
If the gate to the lower parking lot is not open
– OR –
if you arrive in the late afternoon and plan to stay into the evening, please park in the upper parking lot, adjacent to Tyrone Road.
Mid-Day
If the gate to the lower parking lot is open, you are welcome to park in the lower parking lot, next to the Education Center, or at any marked spaces in the one-way loop beyond the Education center lot. Please return to your car by the posted time, or you will be locked in. Overflow parking is also available in the Terrace at Tibbs Run Lot, as long as no private events are scheduled. Please pay attention to posted signs during your visit.

Handicapped Accessible Parking
There are designated handicapped spaces next to the Education and Event Center providing access to the building and restrooms, the Yagle Garden, and the Reservoir Loop Trail. There are also designated handicapped spaces at the Terrace at Tibbs Run for event attendance, and at the Visitors Center. (Available mid-day only, see additional parking details for more information.)
The lower parking lot closes at 7:30 in the spring/summer season, and at 4 p.m. during the fall/winter season, unless there is a scheduled event.
The Gate to the lower parking lot can be locked at ANY POINT after the posted closing time. Please park in the upper parking lot if you plan to be in the Garden into the evening.
Please Note: The lower parking lot is not guaranteed to be open every day of the week, particularly in winter months. Spring/summer gate hours begin with the start of daylight saving time, and end September 30. From October 1 until daylight saving time ends, the gate closes at 630 p.m. and from November-March the gate closes at 4 p.m.
