When are we open?

The WVBG is open 365 days a year, from dawn to dusk.

Please leave the premises before dark.

A chain is pulled across the upper parking lot at dusk.

Where do you park?

The lower parking lot is generally open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and pleasant weekends March-October as volunteers are available to host.  Weekend hours include Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The lower parking lot will also be open for scheduled events.

At other times access is limited to those who can hike down the road into the Botanic Garden from the upper parking lot beside Tyrone Road.  The upper and lower parking lots are about 500 yards apart, and you can access the Garden by walking down the main road or our new Hillside Trail.

Early or Late in the Day

If the gate to the lower parking lot is not open

– OR  –

if you arrive in the late afternoon and plan to stay into the evening, please park in the upper parking lot, adjacent to Tyrone Road.



If the gate to the lower parking lot is open, you are welcome to park in the lower parking lot, next to the Education and Event Center, or at any marked spaces in the one-way loop beyond the EEC lot.  Please return to your car by the posted time, or you will be locked in.

Handicapped Accessible Parking

There are designated handicapped spaces next to the Education and Event Center providing access to the building and restrooms, the Yagle Garden, and the Reservoir Loop Trail.  (Available mid-day only, see additional parking details for more information.)

The lower parking lot closes at 4 p.m. on weekdays, and varying times on the weekends.

The Gate to the lower parking lot can be locked at ANY POINT after 4 p.m. on weekdays.  Weekend hosting hours change throughout the season, please see Garden hosts for closing times. Please park in the upper parking lot if you plan to be in the Garden into the evening.

Please Note: The lower parking lot is not guaranteed to be open every day of the week.
